We are learning understand the role data plays in statistical studies, how variability is inherent in data and to understand the foundational concepts of statistics including validity and reliability.
I will know I am successful when I can:
- explain the distinction between the terms population and sample;
- describe how data sets can vary based on samples of the population;
- explain the distinction between primary and secondary data;
- explain the definitions of validity and reliability and why they are important when consuming knowledge;
- gather primary and secondary data;
- determine how statistics can be applied in a variety of situations and occupations.
