We are learning understand the role data plays in statistical studies, how variability is inherent in data and to understand the foundational concepts of statistics including validity and reliability.

• describe how data sets can vary based on samples of the population;
• explain the distinction between primary and secondary data;
• explain the definitions of validity and reliability and why they are important when consuming knowledge;
• gather primary and secondary data;
• determine how statistics can be applied in a variety of situations and occupations.
